Annual Institute Rimdro - 2018

One of the most anxiously awaited occasions our Institute Rimdro was held on 19th day of 3rd month in the Bhutanese calendar. Great excitement and hurried activities were visible all around. Even those who are not actively, involved are excited to have a study-free day in the institute, filled with fun, frolic and amusement.

The preparations for the Rimdro begin much ahead of the day itself by the two coordinators. The shopping for the Chadi was done. The venue of the function was decorated with beautiful Thangkas and colorful Dhars. The day started with Lhabsang by Lam Ugyen from Lungtenphu Lhakhang and group. The long-awaited day, finally, arrived and everyone seems to be immensely busy and hectic, rushing here and there for one reason or the other. The Rimdro for the day was started with Lhabsang-Thruelsel followed by the Nyep, Methup Thongchey Mekha and Jabzhi.

The breakfast,lunch and dinner were prepared by the kitchen department coordinated by Tshewang Rinzin and his trainees, the serving was done by F&B department. Some guest from Tourism Council of Bhutan were invited, there were quite huge group who came for the lunch.

At the same time, the five colours prayer flags (Lungdhar) were also hoisted outside the institute for the benefit of all sentient beings and for the wellbeing of RITH Family. Significance of the colours of Prayer Flags are as follows: White – Purification of Karma; Yellow – Victory over Obstacles; Red – Wish Fulfilling Prayer; Green – Compassion Prayer and Blue – Health and Longevity.

The function ended with a vote of thanks to the Lam and group by Mr. Namgay Wangchuk IT lecturer. He thank the lam and group by thanking for sparing their valuable time and blessing the Institute. The dance items were presented by the staffs and students.

The last to come was the acknowledgment for the successful day by the management head for the kitchen department, F&B department, students and coordinators. Finally, everybody goes home, bidding adieu to each other.
